After several years of puttering around with clay while working full time within the helping professions, I began potting full time in 2002. Within a year I joined with 4 other potters to create Pyromania Pottery, located in Coombs, B.C. Being in such a vibrant tourist destination resulted in many pots leaving the store, which lead to many, many hours spent practising and refining all aspects of my work. I enjoy making decorative as well as functional pots and my latest love is my gas kiln. The stoneware, functional pottery I have here was fired in the 7th firing of that kiln and I am thrilled with the results. I live just past Lantzville with my glass artist husband, Christopher Smith of Glaskrafter Art Glass, where we live, create, and show and sell our work in our home gallery, Phoenix Gallery.
