General: I am a retired farmer and paramedic with a life-long passion for working with my hands to create unique and beautiful wood products. Since moving to Vancouver Island in 2020, I now have the time and opportunity to express my artistic and creative skills through my love of working with wood and resin. Ken JR Woodworks was born out of the love and support of my wife and children, whose names are reflected in the acronym Ken JR.  

Woodworking: Each unique piece carries a story of time and place. Working with a combination of local and exotic woods in mostly natural finishes, my wood products are beautiful to the eye and to the touch. Keepsake boxes, tea boxes, jewelry boxes make outstanding unique and special gifts.

Wood and Resin: Combining beautiful wood and resin into artistic charcuterie boards, tables and other unique and one of a kind products that highlights the grain of the wood and the movement and colour spectrum of the resin is my goal with these products. No two are ever alike as the wood grain dictates the uniqueness of each piece. Exotic woods such as olive wood and tiger wood or local woods such as arbutus and maple are polished with beeswax for food safe use.
