I have always been drawn to the arts. I started drawing at a young age, with the gentle guide of my parents and my artist grandmother who told me for inspiration I simply needed to look at, or find beauty in my surroundings.
I found my love for oil paints while attending the Etobicoke School for the Arts in Toronto, however after high school, I found myself less than inspired and I put down my paint brushes for nearly 14 years.
When my grandmother passed, I acquired her beloved art supplies. Once I held her brushes in my hands, knew I wanted to paint once again.
A lover of water, growing up landlocked, I dreamt of the sea my entire life. I knew I wanted to live my life by the Ocean.
I moved west with the intention to live by the sea in Tofino, and found myself in love with the town of Ucluelet BC which is now my home.
I am mesmerized by the power of the ocean, the movement and reflection. The sound of seafoam melting over the surface of glistening waves. The breath of sea breeze.
What is beautiful to me, and what I try to represent in my art is the essence of the nature that I see around me.
