Join the Pacific Rim Arts Society as we celebrate our 2nd annual Cultural Heritage Festival on Saturday, September. 21st to Monday, September. 30th, 2013. This year's festival features Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation culture. Be prepared to spend some time with master carver Gordon Dick as he carves a totem pole in the lobby of the exclusive Black Rock Oceanfront resort in Ucluelet where there will be an art show of cultural relevant pieces by regional artists or visit the participating galleries in Tofino and Ucluelet where there will be artists in actions every day. If you enjoy guided tours and storytelling, Wishkey and Gisele Martin have much to share with you at the Tofino Botanical Garden or the Kwisitis Visitor Centre at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Cedar bark weaving workshops are also on the program. During the festival, you can also enjoy a film screening, a Jason Titan production and take in a music performance by the famous Leonard Sumner. Events will take place in various venues between Ucluelet, Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and Tofino on the Vancouver Island west coast. Predominantly free events. Look at specific events on our program for more details. Happy festival!
