Ian Ferreira was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1975 but soon moved West by the call of freedom and wilderness. For most of his life, he has lived close to nature and First Nation peoples.
He is the father of three beautiful girls whom he likes to spend his free time with in nature, teaching about wild plants, telling stories or playing soccer. During his artistic journey he has been a drummer, a writer and most recently, decided to “write with lights”.
Since moving to Ucluelet, he has been caught by the waves, and when he is not taking pictures or working at the Floathouse, you can be sure to find him at the beach with his surfboard. He always been a dreamer and has so many interesting stories about wild encounters. His main model is a resident Steller’s Jay with whom he has shared a piece of land.
After contemplating the beauty of the living during most of his life, he has now decided to share it with the help of his photography.
